diamond seems to be good, but even the fine is sweet coarse. The chief issue is the fiscal assistance separated from the front in two uses

Pros:clad sizefast cuttingmultiple gritsflatonly need fill up for fat, saving the expense of honing oilCons:not fine enoughbacking plate too thinscratches knife bladeI have only sharpened a only just any knives so far away, keep for the results were good, keep for not spectacular. Initially off, these stones are fast cutting, and put a good helpfulness advantage on each knife I have tried them on. The grit seems to have some edges quite a bit privileged than the surface (relatively speaking) because if you are not very careful, you can scratch up the blade with them. This seems to be improving as the stones break in, keep for they still will scratch the blade if you are not careful. The stones rub promptly, keep for are on the coarse side, even the finest grit will rub, keep for not polish. With the intention of said, if you use care, you can sharped a pretty good nick made known of a blade, in a fleeting time. These stones are great for compelling the nicks made known of blades, and establishing the proper bevel. However, to make a really sharp advantage, as in shaving sharp, you will need to follow up with a touch finer. My other complaint, is with the intention of the financial assistance plate the stones are mounted to, is quite thin, having it be an inch thick or more, would allow for easier use. The way it is currently, you have to put them on the advantage of a table, or counter, to be capable to lay the blade advantage flat tire against the stone, otherwise the thickness of the soubriquet, will not allow for it. This is a minor quibble, because a thicker stone, would take up more storage interval, and it really isn't with the intention of hard to any place them at the advantage of a work surface, or on top of some rank of spacer.I yield them a 3 star performance, good keep for not great, keep for probably 4 1/2 stars in value. Where else can you make a 3 stone diamond hone set, for below $10, let alone clad sized stones (they are about 2X8 inches in size). I have yet to use them enough to gather about longevity, keep for at this fee, I can't complain. The stones are flat tire and true, no warpage or wobble to them. I will end with one last comment. The clearance holes you reflect it over, in the cutting surface, are recessed in with the intention of the diamonds are bonded to a thin cut of metal, and with the intention of metal cut has clearance holes rub into it (like most diamond stones do). Unlike a DMT stone, which has the clearance holes filled with fake, making for a flush surface, the plate seems to be glued on top of the fake, so you need to watch so you don't snag the blade tip on the advantage of the holes. Not a big deal, just a touch to watch for.All in all, these are a good supplement to my red and green DMT stones (fine, and ultra-fine) as the finest in this set, leaves off, about where the fine DMT stone takes ended. The DMT ultra fine stone, is fine enough to make a really polished advantage. I was going to buy a medium DMT stone, keep for I got this set of 3, for about half of just one additional DMT stone would have expense, so the value is there. Just protect in mentality, for someone who desires a hair-splitting advantage, you need to finish with a touch finer. For helpfulness work, like notch boxes, envelopes, peeling the filling off wires, they do just fine, and do the career promptly.

I got these today and went on a sharpening binge at my kitchen table. The kitchen knives are sharp, my sack knives are sharp, and my scabbard knives are sharp. The blade... still desires bring about save for unpleasantly get to it quickly sufficient. For the low cost of these blocks, I put all my tools in trade into proper effective order. (scary serration)

When you reflect of shape sharpening you expect precision. These can only be used for sharpening approximate tools not precision tools.or quality knives. The shape homogeny is approximate so you get a lot of scratches and an potholed finish.Gave it a 2 since they can sharpening approximate tools.

I bought them in the family tree way an low-priced product but they only lasted a short time and were very coarse, I will have to hold more to get a real edge on any of my knives.

These are easy to soubriquet for use on better knives. No block to mess with. No oil to mess with. I just dip them in a cup of water and lap the blade with them. Works great.

the blocks were actually coarse, even the fine one. they also began rusting immediately after a few uses.save your money and get a touch nicer

I bought this pro the unadorned task of putting an edge on my ceramic pocket knife. It did bring about, I was able to grind the knife. I will caution with the intention of these are cheaply made in China and not value extra at that time in this vicinity $5 - $6 bucks. After the first aid they started to trade show cryptogram of rusting, and the "fine" marble is not near "fine" enough to put a razor sharp edge on the ceramic knife. With the intention of understood, it did grind my ceramic knife, and since the cost to craft the knife was extra at that time the cost of this fit, I estimate it was value the cost. If you are buying this pro a normal knife, I think there are loads of better options out there. In Fleeting, it worked, save pro it is far early great!

These equipment cut steel like it was rock precious. I made a holder for them out of a modest try out of oak I had almost by chiseling a well. Just dip one in fill up and go to town. To test them, I took an old, low-cost mold I had been by as a rough scraper and got it back to razor-astute wood mold in a few summary. I urge these for all rough sharpening almost the shop. No need to dissipate more.
