Used this for 7 old steam radiators and it worked great...you call for to really watch your moisture though so make sure you have an inline filter to elimate any from your tank and keep you sand or shot in a very very dry and warm place...also keep in mind you call for approximately genuine volume not just cfm...I have a job boss (porter cable) and it was a little lacking....used my brothers 30 gallon with less cfm but more volume and it was so much more efficiet to spray with. I think if you have realistic expectations you will like this unit. But if you have a big job or don't have a very good compressor then upgrade your compressor or hire out the work. - A. Economical. Does not require a huge compressor, although bigger is best. Perfect for jobs where a large blaster is not looked-for. Long lasting! This one replaces an like peas in a pod item several years old that facility splendid, just leaks blast material where the axle has enlarged the holes.

Used it right out of the box. Use "dry" silica and high volumne and pressure of air from your compressor. Had no vex blasting the rusted mowerdeck former to painting it.

I'm an avid do-it-yourself man. Retired with a lot of experience under my belt, I took on a project of cleaning up eight outdoor lawn chairs with a 4 foot round table. These are made of all steel and were purchased about 30 being ago. I priced the set on line and they now exceed $5000. Mine were rusted and in call for of a thorough paint and rust stripping. I first tried paint remover. It just sat there. It didn't matter how long I left it on. Little was accomplished with it. So I decided to purchase a sand blasting unit. Since this is probably the only time I would ever use it, I didn't want to purchase a commercial grade unit. I did my homework and decided on the Campbell unit.I have a 220 volt 8 pony compressor with a 10 gallon tank. So I concluded that I had a sufficient air source to make the unit work.When it arrived, I went to the local lumber yard and purchased large grit sand specifically prepared for sand blasting. I quickly discovered that the screen on the Campbell unit would not consent to the larger grit sand pass through it. So I dumped 400 pounds of sand under my grand kids playground system and returned to the lumber yard. This time I skipped the medium grit and went for the small (fine) grit sand. Four 100 lb bags were loaded and rancid I went.This time the sand passed through the screen and the blaster was loaded. With everything hooked up, air at 110 pounds, goggles and breathing mask on, I began the cleaning of my chairs. Unfortunately, the unit barely worked. Approximately sand erratically came out, but mostly it was just air. To wrap this up, I worked with the unit for numerous hours, trying everything I could to get the sand flowing. Finally, 400 more pounds of sand went to the grand kids playground.Conclusion, either my compressor needed to be larger or the sand blaster is not worth much. At my age, I rarely have a boondoggle. But this time I can't classify this experience as anything else.I ended up purchasing a DeWalt grinder with half a dozen steel brushes and spent a couple of weeks grinding paint and rust rancid my lawn set. So, if you can't afford a commercial sand blasting unit, don't waste you money on a budget one.

I've got about eight hours of use in on this in view of the fact that I purchased it, here's what I've establish:Yes, there is a small hole in the hose connector where it goes into the main body of the container. Do not cover this hole with the hose when blasting with dry media, or it will surge. I fought this for a couple of hours before I thought to read the directions more closely, so my bad. For those reviewers that dinged this as a unenthusiastic, I establish almost immediately that all you have to do is turn the connector so that the hole is pointing honest up, and almost nothing spills out when you stop blasting.Several people have mentioned the importance of a dry air supply, I will actually argue with this to some boundary. It's very important to have some kind of dryer or fill up separator on the airline, but I have establish that my air supply is just a little wet (now corrected), but in view of the fact that the venturi chamber that draws in the media is so accurate to the needle, there's really not much opportunity for plugging in the very short path where dry media encounters slightly wet air at a sweet high velocity. So no, I have not personally establish that bone-dry air with a 40-not more than dew point is a strict requirement, but I do still urge that the air be as dry as reasonably doable. It's a best do for maximizing air compressor life anyway.I'm using it with a Campbell-Hausfeld 60-gallon 3.7-HP compressor, which puts out about 10 cfm at 90 psig. So far I've kept it at about 100 psi, but I tried it almost 80 psig and also almost 110 psig and it still worked well. Once I learned the proper use of the hose connector, I've establish the feed to be steady and passionate, and the overall removal efficiency to be exceptional. I've used it with medium-grit Black Beauty, and with 120-grit aluminum oxide; the Black Beauty strips the crud off quickly and foliage a rougher finish, and the aluminum oxide strips slower but foliage a smoother finish. I'm using it to take out the crud and crust from the undercarriage of a 1979 MGB in preparation for painting, and it's doing a great job so far. Not sure I'd use it for a large-area job like cleaning concrete or something like that, but for a smaller area and a intricate surface--such as the undercarriage of a 1979 MGB--it does a great job. Overall, I'm very happy with it so far, and I'll try to dredge up to bring up to date this review as I get more hours on it.One last thing that I cannot stress enough: USE RESPIRATORY PROTECTION, EYE PROTECTION, AND GOOD WORK GLOVES. A visual artist's mask or surgical mask will not care for you from breathing in some of the dust, and depending on the media you use it may be unsafe. Spend the money on a good ventilator, preferably a full-face style, with P95 particulate filters. If you don't use a full-face ventilator, at the very least use a half-face ventilator and a face buffer with safety glasses, or better yet, safety eyeglasses. The sand and dust will go everywhere. I wear full Tyvek coveralls with a hood, and a 3M 6000-series full-face ventilator with P95 particulate filters, and I have had no eye irritation or breathing problems so far. Gloves must be leather or similar, and heavy-duty, not just gardening gloves or disposable exam gloves; for best removal efficiency you have to hold the needle within only a few inches of the work surface, and the blowback would probably feel like it was stripping the skin off your hand after no more than a few minutes.

I bought this with the intent on removing a small amount of rust on my snow plow. I also went out and purchased and brand new compressor to soubriquet the required PSI. Do NOT waste your money on this. I could use a straw and blow the sand at the rust harder than this tool.

#### DO NOT BUY THIS SANDBLASTER UNTIL THE COMPANY ENGINEERS MAKE THE PROPER MODIFICATIONS ####I read all of the reviews and compared this to other brands of akin fee. I am not able to use the sand blaster yet. Read on...In its favor was that it arrived one day ahead of schedule, it was packaged okay, gathering was easy ample and I like its size for the job I'm dependability. Not in its favor is its design, extent of equipment and just okay title-holder's blue-collar.MATERIAL HOSE CONNECTORThe first business was tiresome to attach the clarification hose connector to the underside of the unit (Hopper). It is made of run of the mill fake and the nut that outfit onto it is made of metal. Because the hose will put strain on the connector, the connector has to be tightened steadily. As I tightened the hose connector and surrounded by nut together the fake outfit on the connector stripped down immediately and wouldn't tighten any further. So the connector spun almost in the drilled hole.The second business about the hose connector is that it has a hole drilled in a roundabout way into it just in the rear everywhere the connected hose stops. Its purpose is to let some air into the spill of clarification from the hopper as it passes into the hose. The directions say to take in the hole with the hose when using the sand blaster for spraying liquids.With the hole discovered as it says to do for dry equipment blasting, I poured some clarification into the hopper just to see what would take place. The clarification was ordinary grade glass beads. It immediately ongoing leaking clarification out the underside in three places. One was the hole in the connector.WHEEL AXLE RODThe other two clarification leaks were coming from the holes in the underside of the hopper. That's everywhere they drilled four holes to thread the wheel axle rod owing to. Actually stupid Chinese engineers! Must have mounted the rod on some type of break tiff that didn't infiltrate into the hopper body.Like I said, I place of safeguard't even used this yet. I'll add to this before long about how it in fact does the job, if it does.Assess extra before long the same day 5/13/2013:I called Technological Benefit to describe what I had found. (Standing for the very short coming up cycle - 2 summary or so and for the adept on the other end of the buzz). He plainly saw the dual problems and could only recommend to restore the unit below warranty.
