I can get a pretty good edge, but after reading a book on the subject, I knew that I was never going to get that "factory" sharp feel on my knives without a tool.So I ordered the DMT Deluxe kit - in suspense to get that perfect 20 degree, or 18 degree grind...and I did...for one knife. Then a small fake nub, inside the alignment tool, snapped rancid, and it was impossible to get the tool to hold an slant, because of how the degree "inscription" are locked in place on that nub/lug. The tool became useless, unless I wanted one bevel incredibly sharp.I immediately emailed DMT expressing my problem. I never did get a response. The injection molded fake is as brittle as a child's toy, and really not nearly the quality of the stones they include with the kit (which imho, were pretty dang good.)
