I purchased both the 1000 and 2000 grit sheets from Powertec. They work just fine for my purposes. I just started sharpening my knives with a belt sander. Because I couldn't find anything above 600 grit belts from a different vendor, I ordered these two grits in order to aid finish up the edges. They work just fine for me. I am new to sharpening with anything other than a marble. So any advise or feedback would be appreciated. I would definitely recommend this product.

I have been sharpening knives, axes, machetes, scissors, etc by hand for over 6 being now using diamond stones. I can get a pretty good edge, but after reading a book on the subject, I knew that I was never going to get that "factory" sharp feel on my knives without a tool.So I ordered the DMT Deluxe kit - in suspense to get that perfect 20 degree, or 18 degree grind...and I did...for one knife. Then a small fake nub, inside the alignment tool, snapped rancid, and it was impossible to get the tool to hold an slant, because of how the degree "inscription" are locked in place on that nub/lug. The tool became useless, unless I wanted one bevel incredibly sharp.I immediately emailed DMT expressing my problem. I never did get a response. The injection molded fake is as brittle as a child's toy, and really not nearly the quality of the stones they include with the kit (which imho, were pretty dang good.)
